## Description The current Crate interface differs significantly from the original designs in `docs/ui-specification.md`, particularly on the Discover and album detail pages. The goal is to bring the application as close to the original UI sketches as practical, improving the layout, visual hierarchy and overall browsing experience while preserving existing functionality. This issue focuses on the UI itself. Features already covered by other M4 issues should not be reimplemented here. ## Tasks ### Discover page - Refine the layout, spacing, typography and album cards to more closely match the original UI sketch. - Improve the initial experience by displaying browsable album content before the user performs a search. - Allow browsing, filtering and sorting without requiring a search term. - Make album cards clickable while keeping the Add to crate button independently functional. - Improve the visual grouping of search, filtering and sorting controls. - Add a back-to-top button that appears after scrolling down and lets users quickly return to the search and filter controls. - Improve the filter panel layout, including moving the Clear filters button to a more natural position. ### Album detail page - Redesign the layout to more closely match the original album detail sketch. - Improve the presentation of album metadata, tracklists, ratings and reviews. - Reduce unnecessary empty space and improve alignment, spacing and visual hierarchy. - Integrate review actions more naturally into the page layout. ### General UI - Keep the design consistent across pages and responsive on desktop and mobile. - Preserve existing search, pagination, reviews and crate functionality. - Reuse existing components and styles where practical. ## Related issues - #23 – Album cover images: provides artwork used in the updated layouts. - #28 – Manual accessibility and usability check: covers broader accessibility testing. - #64 – Validate and refine the real album catalog: addresses catalog data quality. - #25 – Country facet and country filter: covers additional filtering functionality. ## Acceptance criteria - Discover and album detail layouts closely follow the original UI specification, adapted to the implemented functionality. - Users can browse albums before entering a search term and can filter or sort without searching. - Clicking an album card opens its detail page, while the Add to crate button remains independently accessible and functional. - Existing functionality continues to work. - Both pages remain usable on desktop and mobile. - Album artwork is incorporated when available through #23, without duplicating that work. - The back-to-top button appears after scrolling down, works with mouse and keyboard, and does not cover album cards or other controls on mobile. - The Clear filters button has a consistent, clearly associated position within the filter panel and clears all selected filters.
