Persistence
Persistence in the HelpMeHelp application is implemented using SQLite as a lightweight and embedded database solution. SQLite does not require a separate server process, as the entire database is stored locally as a single file. This makes it well suited for a Java desktop application, where simplicity and portability are important.
The application uses the Java Database Connectivity (JDBC) API to interact with the database. Through JDBC, SQL queries are executed to store and retrieve data such as user information and saved organizations. The results from database queries are manually mapped to Java objects, enabling integration between the persistence layer and the rest of the system.
This approach provides a simple and efficient way to manage application data while maintaining full control over database operations.
